The year 2007 finished with a lot of new gadgets on the market, some of them was great but others… well I tried to do a list of the top 10 gadgets of this past year.
Number ONE.
Apple iPhone.
I know there are a lot of people who thinks the iPhone is a piece of s**t, but come on why then more than a million of these phones were sold in a few months?. In fact I have one of this phones and I have no complain about it. And I can not use all the functions it has because I have no contract with AT&T, I do not even leave in a country where Apple sales the iPhone.
The way Apple design and make the iPhone change the way we think about a cell phone or a mobile device. So we can divide the mobile device industry as before and after iPhone.
Number TWO.
Nikon Coolpix S51c
Have you ever full out your digital camera’s memory card midway through a vacation? The 8-megapixel Nikon Coolpix S51c point-and-shoot is tricked out with built-in wireless capability, so you can email your images or beam them directly from the camera to your Flickr account or to Nikon’s own online photo bank.
Number THREE.
Netgear SPH200W Wi-Fi Skype Phone
This cordless wi-fi phone comes with Skype software already built in, so you can log in to an existing account and start making Internet calls immediately. The phone will also work at most public hotspots so if you have lots of friends overseas, you may not want to leave home without it.
Number FOUR.
Palm Centro
The Palm Centro provides an opportunity to get all the essential smart-phone features. This device supports Web surfing, emailing, instant messaging and text messaging, and sports a 1.3-megapixel camera and a touch screen that works best with a stylus. A mobile version of Google Maps comes preloaded. The qwerty keypad is seriously small, but the bubble-like tactile design of the individual keys makes them easier targets.
Number FIVE.
Sony Handycam HDR-CX7
The CX7 records rich high-definition footage straight to a Memory Stick PRO Duo, so it feels light and compact in your palm, and the 2.7-in. LCD screen features touch controls for set up and playback. Should you get the shakes while shooting, the CX7 has the ability to stabilize the image (using optics, which is more effective than a digital correction) and smooth out the action. A built-in HDMI port lets you connect the camera to an HDTV and watch your home movies in all their high-def glory.
Number SIX.
Nintendo Wii
The Wii is the fifth home video game console released by Nintendo. The console is the direct successor to the Nintendo GameCube. Nintendo states that its console targets a broader demographic than that of Microsoft’s Xbox 360 and Sony’s PlayStation 3, but it competes with both as part of the seventh generation of video game systems.
A distinguishing feature of the console is its wireless controller, the Wii Remote, which can be used as a handheld pointing device and can detect acceleration in three dimensions. Another is WiiConnect24, which enables it to receive messages and updates over the Internet while in standby mode.
The Nintendo Wii changes the way the people play video games with a lot more interactivity between the game and the person.
Number SEVEN.
Dell XPS M1210
The first thing that’s noticed about the XPS M1210 is that it doesn’t look like any other Dell designed notebook currently on the market. That’s right, no white bumpers like we see on every Inspiron machine currently in the line-up. It has a great look with the black lid and silver brush keyboard and casing. The blue effects lighting on the front located silver media buttons is very nice. Overall the M1210 look is very pleasing to the eye, and certainly can be called stylish but not gawdy (like some might say the brazen XPS M1710 gaming laptop design is). The look walks a nice line between being cool yet professional.
The casing is made of a magnesium alloy material and this notebook complies with the Dell Road Ready guidelines. The lid is very solid and offers great protection to the screen, push in on the back and you won’t see ripples on the LCD. The hinges are nice, rigid enough to hold the screen in place but not overly stiff. The M1210 uses a latchless lid closing design, there is no use of magnets to keep the lid down but when it shuts you can hear it snap shut and spring tension holds the lid in place and closed very well. All of the buttons on the M1210 have a nice feel and are not cheap feeling. The touchpad mouse buttons are especially nice in terms of feedback and travel.
Number EIGHT.
TiVo HD
Introducing TiVo HD, the digital video recorder that combines the intelligence of the TiVo service with the razor-sharp clarity of HD recording. Designed as a universal cable box to work with any cable provider, the TiVo HD box also offers network connectivity, delivering the best of broadcast and broadband TV, right to your living room.
Number NINE.
Iomega eGo Portable Hard Drive
The 160 GB eGo has enough room to hold up to 640,000 digital photos, 2,900 hours of music or 240 hours of video (depending, of course, on the compression rate). A new dual-interface version works over USB or FireWire and comes with both types of cords. If you accidentally knock the eGo off your desk, the shock-absorbing case will protect the important documents and precious media stored inside.
Number TEN.
Pinnacle Video Transfer
Want to watch TV shows and movies on your iPod or PSP? Make a digital copy of precious home movie tapes? Back up holiday videos when away from home? At the touch of a button, Pinnacle Video Transfer rapidly records video in MPEG-4 quality onto any USB 2.0 storage device without using a PC.
Well as I said before this is MY LIST and I chose this gadgets because I had the chance to use them. If you have any other list please share it with us leaving a comment.
