Speaking of the Devil…

Steve Ballmer has been the CEO of Microsoft since year 2000 and he has produced dozens of quotations which definitely should be known. So, here is the list of “Steve Ballmer’s Intelligent Quotes”.

  • “I’m going to f—ing bury that guy, I have done it before, and I will do it again. I’m going to f—ing kill Google.” [Sydney Morning Herald]
  • “Developers, developers, developers, developers, developers, developers, developers, developers, developers, developers, developers, developers, developers, developers…” [Watch at YouTube]
  • “Linux is a cancer that attaches itself in an intellectual property sense to everything it touches.” [Chicago Sun-Times]
  • “My children - in many dimensions they’re as poorly behaved as many other children, but at least on this dimension I’ve got my kids brainwashed: You don’t use Google, and you don’t use an iPod.” [money.cnn.com]
  • “We’ve had DRM in Windows for years. The most common format of music on an iPod is “stolen”.” [The Register]
  • “I have never, honestly, thrown a chair in my life.” [CNET News]
  • “Google’s not a real company. It’s a house of cards.” [Court transcript]
  • “There’s no chance that the iPhone is going to get any significant market share. No chance.” [unsourced]
  • We don’t have a monopoly. We have market share. There’s a difference. [unsourced]
  • DRM is the future. [unsourced]

He reminds me in some way all the politics that we have here in Mexico, they talk to much and say nothing.

RIAA Legal Ruling, Could Shut Down The Internet?

Yesterday I was stumbling the internet and I found something really interesting that I want to share with you people. Is a post that took my attention because this notice could be the beginning of the end of the internet as we know it right now.

This Digital rights management (DRM) is taking control of everything we buy. You are no longer the owner of the product just the owner of the licence of use. Well maybe this could work to combat the piracy but the products you “buy”, and I am referring to software in this particular case, has a lot of bugs and security holes and you have to download fixes at least 3 or 4 times each week. So you are not acquire a good product, a quality product anymore.

The post I found is this…

RIAA Legal Ruling Could Shut Down The Internet
U.S. government supports legal case that would criminalize making any files available on the world wide web

Prison Planet | November 29, 2006
Paul Joseph Watson

A landmark legal case on behalf of the Recording Industry Association of America and other global trade organizations seeks to criminalize all Internet file sharing of any kind as copyright infringement, effectively shutting down the world wide web - and their argument is supported by the U.S. government.

iPhone Applications

The iPhone was named the best invention of this year, maybe some people are agree and others do not, but all have to be agree that this device caused a lot of expectation.

I have with mine more or less three months, I live in San Luis Potosi, so it is hacked. And to be honest,  I could tell you that my only complaint with this phone is that not all the applications that I found on the web works in my home town, of course is not iPhone fault.

So for the people who do not have one, give it a chance it worth and for the people who talk bad about this is because they can not afford one, they love Microsoft and DRM or simply because they hate Apple.
